LA FABRIQUE
EN VILLE
La Fabrique en Ville is a welcoming café nestled in the heart of the Belgian capital. Located within Egmont Park, halfway between Avenue Louise and Le Sablon, this warm café provides a retreat amidst lush greenery.
Driven by our clients' wish to reimagine and optimize their space, our concept aimed to echo both the building's past and the beauty of its surroundings.
Taking place in the historic orangery of the Egmont Palace, the design’s approach was guided by a respect for the building's heritage. While navigating the challenges of working within a protected space, we focused on revealing the potential of its space rather than deconstructing it. Thus, preserving its integrity while infusing it with new life.
As you step foot inside the café, a soft curve welcomes you and guides your sight towards the double height windows overlooking the park. The space is subtly divided by the different ceiling heights, the high bar and the tree to accommodate different atmosphere within the openness. The monolithic line rendered in an olive colour sets a background to reflect the nature outside while hiding all the different staff and technical spaces
From the fluid space to the thoughtful choice of materials inspired by the existing and its environment, La Fabrique en Ville embodies our commitment to creating spaces that harmonize with their surroundings.
Despite the challenges of coordinating a one-month construction timeline, we are proud to have overcome all obstacles that came our way, delivering a space that celebrates the beauty of nature and the rich history of its surroundings.
